Another lovely sunny weekend in Nanaimo, and Marije had to work, as she has done every weekend since we moved here.
In between her morning and afternoon animal-care duties we decided to go for a brief walk, visiting Eagle Point and its rocky beach.
Beach access was over a long set of stairs, all of it deep in the shade of the hill, including the beach at the end:
Next time we’ll try to schedule our visit of this beach during low tide, when this is apparently a very broad and sandy beach.

Sander took this picture when I just started working here. Now there are fish in those bigger tanks in the background, so he’s not allowed in the room anymore! But with all those pipes, can you imagine how loud it is in there?
