Hooray, a week after the yellow smoke descended upon Vancouver Island, we finally have clear skies again 🙂
Yesterday’s weather helped a lot with that, I’m sure several wildfires were doused in a matter of minutes when the rain came down as heavy as it did.
Marije and I were visiting a wildlife park at the moment the showers hit, and we were happy to stay inside, outside it was like walking through a waterfall.
Here are some indoor shots of the Wildlife Recovery Centre:
There were 7 young black bears in the recovery facility, including the 2 celebrity orphan cubs from Port Hardy. To prevent human-imprinting on these bears, they are kept away from the public and only visible on monitors in the eagle building:
One Mountain Lion with a smile? 😄 Lucky that so much rain has fallen and the fire is gone.
Yes we’re very happy with the rain, we can now see all the way to the mountains again 🙂
